Music identifier apps were among the earliest services to hit app stores. At the time, there was something magical about early smartphones identifying the names of songs from fringe music genres. Download this app from Microsoft Store for Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows Phone 8.1, Windows Phone 8. Before we get started, you should know that this feature is only available on the desktop client of Spotify. It is not available on mobile versions of the app, but may get integrated if the desktop feature is a success.
To access the Lyrics, you first need to play a song for which you would like to see the lyrics. You can just search for the song or play one from your playlist. Next to the music player, you will see a new button “Lyrics”. Just click on it and the lyrics of the current song will appear in the middle of the app.

You will see currently playing lines highlighted, and the next lines right below them. The new lines will be highlighted as soon as they are played, and with a quite accurate timing.
Interacting with Lyrics
Now that you can see the lyrics, it is time to customize some options for a better experience. On the bottom left side of the playing Lyrics, you will see an option of “Settings”, click on it. Here you can specify the size of the lines according to your comfort. You can also turn on/off the background if you think it is a bit distracting.
You will also see a button “EDIT LYRICS”, which will actually let you edit the lyrics. If you think that the lyrics are not correct or the play time and lyrics displayed are not synced properly, you can easily edit it. You will be provided with all the instructions to edit the lyrics, all you need to do is do it right. However, make sure you know what you are doing and can edit it accurately.

You can also interact with lyrics shown just like any other text, you can easily highlight any part and even copy it.

Spotify is a little bit of a Johnny-come-lately here. Apple Music has had this feature since the rollout of iOS 12 a couple of years ago; this feature merely brings Spotify up-to-date with one of its more prominent competitors.

As for how it works, it seems pretty self-explanatory, if not always perfect at its job. I tested it out by searching for Bruce Springsteen lyrics, because I'm spiritually 65 years old. Spotify kept surfacing covers of the songs instead of the originals. That still technically works if you just want to know the title of a song, but it's not ideal. Maybe it's just a quirk of a newly launched feature and the kinks will get ironed out over time.

Regardless, this is one thing Apple Music can't claim it has over Spotify anymore. The two services are competitors, but Spotify had more than double the amount of premium subscribers when it reported numbers earlier this year.
